Martha is Inteviewed for Haute Living Magazine

A very nice, flattering article on Martha appeared in Haute Living Magazine. FOMs, read the entire article for more Martha love, including an interesting Q&A at the end.

From the article as is the above photo, which appeared on the cover:

It is this kind of brazenness and no-holds-barred attitude that has propelled Stewart to superstardom and enabled her to revolutionize domesticity, transforming household tasks and do-it-yourself projects into a mainstream, buzzworthy phenomenon. “It took a lot of time, a lot of hard work, and a lot of creativity to not exactly redefine lifestyle, but to popularize lifestyle,” she confesses. “We made home-keeping more of a pleasure than a chore… and made it more important than just a menial job. I do not believe that taking care of the home or family is in any way menial. I find it extremely important and I think it is just as important as going to the office every day, maybe even more so.”

Martha’s Beauty Regimen Highlighted in New York Times

There’s no denying that Martha looks fabulous, always. And now we know why! Martha shares her beauty regimen and her favorite products in an article in Thursday’s NY Times. She details her favorite products and regimen for skincare, make-up, fragrance, and hair. Finally, she shares her thoughts on diet and exercise. Say’s Martha, “You can be the most beautiful person on earth, and if you don’t have a fitness or diet routine, you won’t be beautiful.” FOMS: Whatever Martha’s doing, it’s working–she looks fabulous, don’t you think?

From the New York Times article (as is the above photo):

“I was told years ago by my daughter, Alexis, that I shouldn’t leave the house without makeup on. You’ll pay for it if you don’t because somebody will be there with a camera snapping away and you’ll look awful or just plain.”

If you are interested, as I was, in what this regimen will cost you, you might also enjoy this article that provided prices for the products Martha recommends. Most useful, this article also provides links so that you can purchase any and all items for yourself! The headline for the article describes Martha’s regiment as “insane”. However, as a public figure, who represents a publicly-traded company that promotes visuals and aesthetics, and carries her name, Martha simply MUST look her best. For the rest of us, the investment is optional–but who doesn’t want to look his/her best, too? Here’s the Martha Stewart article, from Racked.

What She Wore: Martha and Her Team at MSLO

Let’s have some fun, ok?

I love this fun article–with interactive slide show!–that shows what people wear to work at MSLO. It is great, and even gives details in case you want (need) to go shopping. FOMs: Martha looks amazing, doesn’t she? At 72 and still at the top of her game, she is an inspiration.

From the Wall Street Journal article:

VP, Editor in Chief, Martha Stewart Living, on Martha: “She’s very elegant. She does follow fashion. But she’s also not a slave to trend. She manages that nicely. She always feels on point, but is never trendy for trendy’s sake. She’s got to love the color or the cut. There are certain classic rules that she seems to live by.”

GrandMartha Takes Grandkids Out For a Stroll in NYC

There is absolutely no doubt that Martha loves being a grandmother to Alexis’ two adorable children, Jude and Truman. Whenever she is out with the youngsters, she is beaming ear to ear, as in the photograph above. Yesterday, along with a nanny, she took the grandkids out for a stroll in NYC. Hopefully, Alexis was enjoying some R&R during!

(NOTE: There were other photos published along with this one, but I will no longer post photos of Alexis’ children, after hearing Martha does not like paparazzi snapping photos of her grandkids. Fair enough, right?)

Martha Stewart’s Mother’s Day

Awww, here are some really cute photos of Martha and family (including Kevin Sharkey) enjoying Mother’s Day together yesterday. Martha certainly appears to be one happy grandmother! Happy Mother’s Day, Martha and Alexis!

From Mail Online (UK):

The veteran broadcaster was positively beaming as she enjoyed a tasty plate of pasta at New York’s Il Cantinori with her one-year-old granddaughter Jude nestled happily into her lap.

Martha gets back to her roots

Martha Stewart will be profiled this Sunday at 8pm on the PBS series “Finding Your Roots”. The host of the show, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. researches Martha’s genealogy and uncovers some interesting facts. Read more about the taping of the segment on Martha’s blog.

Says Martha on The Martha Blog:

“The Professor found it fascinating that many of my ancestors were domestic workers and craftsmen, such as ornamental ironworkers, basket makers, seamstresses, and farmers. Others were entrepreneurs, running a butcher shop, a delicatessen, and even a saloon. It’s clear to see that my genealogy has really formed who I am today.”

Martha Stewart makes appearance at Memphis-area Home Depot

Yesterday, Martha appeared at a Memphis-area Home Depot as part of the store’s customer appreciation day. Martha’s bestie Kevin Sharkey appeared with her to promote Martha Stewart products sold in Home Depot stores across the country. Reading the stories of the Martha fans queued up outside the store as early as 4:15am brought back memories for me of meeting the other FOMs. Good times…

More coverage by local media, including video, here.

From the Memphis Commercial Appeal:

On Saturday morning, Stewart spoke to more than 300 people to promote her line of Home Depot products, as well as teach gardening enthusiasts how to create an herb container garden. Kevin Sharkey, creative director of merchandising and senior editor for Martha Stewart Living Magazine, also spoke.

Martha Does Grandma Duty With Jude

Awwww! Love these photos of GrandMartha taking Baby Jude out for a walk in the West Village yesterday, allowing daughter Alexis some alone time with newborn brother, Truman. I also love how Martha manages an outfit that is both smart-looking and practical. But of course! Does anyone know what kind of stroller Martha is pushing? Looks fancy to me.

Martha Stewart pushed her 1-year-old granddaughter Jude in her stroller in New York City on Thursday (April 19). Jude had a nice view of grandma while being pushed around the streets of the West Village.
